Our mission is to inspire 5th grade students at Cahuenga Elementary School to pursue STEM subjects as they graduate to middle school and beyond. We focus on hands-on experiences for team members to design, build, program, and drive a robot. Our team culture is collaborative with an emphasis on fun and creative problem solving. We meet every Thursday at 4pm in Room 12.
Cahuenga Robotics participates in VEX IQ, a hands-on, team-based robotics program that introduces the fundamentals of engineering, coding, and problem-solving. Our team designs, builds, and programs robots to complete specific competitive challenges.
The 2024-25 Cahuenga Robotics team competed in the Orange County VEX IQ Magnolia Tournament where we finished 8th out of 38 teams! For the 2025-26 season, we will have two teams competing at the VEX IQ Valentine Extravaganza on February 14, 2026.
Build
Our 2024 season robot was built from over 500 parts. If you like to tinker and build, come join our team!
Code
We start in Scratch to learn basic programming concepts and then program our robot in VEXcode IQ.
Drive
We drive our robot during competitions with a controller. Join our team and put your gaming skills to use!
Head Coach: Emma
I am a high school senior and have been a member of the Harvard-Westlake robotics team since 8th grade. As a former student at Cahuenga Elementary, I started Cahuenga Robotics in 2024 to share my love of STEM and the fun of robotics with this community. I hope the Cahuenga Robotics experience will encourage team members to pursue STEM studies in the future.
